Jody MacDonald is the adventure photographer’s photographer, a wanderer at heart whether on foot, vehicle or air, and is secretly a train spotter.
Ok, that last point may not be strictly true, but she does have a love of train journeys, but not the sort that have dining carts. If you can travel dangerously on the roof amongst tons of coal bound for the Mauritanian coast or through the lost forests of the Pacific North West, then Jody’s in! Other adventures have seen her kiteboard, sail, surf and paraglide across, beneath and above 90 countries.
Few people have shot the world from so many angles and attitudes
Along the road she has developed her visual story telling producing award-winning portfolios on the last swimming elephants, Tuaregs on the Atlantic coast or paragliding and marooned along the desert coasts of Mozambique. Her work has been featured by Disney, HP, Ford, Leica, Men’s journal, National Geographic, Red Bull, Outside, BBC, Patagonia and Islands magazine. She fights for social change and the preservation of wild places through her work and talks with TEDx stage.
Few people have shot the world from so many angles and attitudes, so we’re super stoked for Jody to bring the depth and breadth of her decades of experience to the Adventure Photo Awards.
